Your reward for sucessfully completing your event at the GMS Queen City Marathon is being able to tell everyone you know "I did it!"

But, just to help you as you (quite understandably) brag about your achivement to your family, co-workers, neighbours, and total strangers passing on the street, we're going to give you a GMS Queen City Marathon finisher medal, too!

As part of our year-long celebration of Canada's 150th Birthday, our medals feature an overall Canadiana theme, incorporating maple leaves into the medal design. The different event ribbons depict different kinds of Canadian imagery - golden wheat fields, blue water, lumberjack tartan, green forests, white speckled birch trees, and starry night skies.

Our medals - designed once again right here in Regina by international experts at The Pin People - have a unique, hand-polished pattern of sublimated maple leaves within the main maple leaf. The small leaves shimmer in different light angles. In this way, no two medals are exactly alike.

Take a look at your 2017 GMS Queen City Marathon bling! (Photos not to scale)

The 42.2K medal, presented to finishers of the GMS Queen City Marathon 42.2K Marathon Run, Wheelchair event, and City of Regina 42.2K Marathon Walk. Something different with this particular medal this year is that the distance is incorporated into the ribbon attachment and not on the medal itself. Plus, this puppy has got some good heft to it. It's a handful.

The 21.1K medal, presented to finishers of the Auto Gallery Subaru 21.1K Run and Sask Egg Producers 21.1K Walk.

The 42.2K Team Relay medal, presented to each member of relay teams that finish the Open Road Recreation 42.2K Team Relay event.

The 10K medal, presented to finishers of the Regina Hotel Association 10K event.

The Family 5K medal, presented to finishers in the Campbell & Haliburton Insurance Family 5K event, which takes place on the afternoon of Saturday, September 9th.

The Mini Marathon medal, presented to finishers in the McDonald's Mini Marathon events, which take place on the morning of Saturday, September 9th. We added and red-gold metalflake effect to these medaals so they're really sparkly! Plus we added some "WHAM!" and "POW!" to the ribbons.

The Night Owl 5K medal, presented to finishers of the University of Regina Night Owl 5K event, which takes place at 8:00 PM on Friday, September 8th. This is the only GMS Queen City Marathon event that does NOT start and finish at the Conexus Arts Centre. The University of Regina Night Owl 5K starts and finishes right on the U. of R. campus. CLICK HERE to check out the course map and the start/finish location.

We've got another special little item for all our University of Regina Night Owl 5K participants, but we'll announce that later. Let's just say we were sitting around trying to come up with an idea and then the lightbulb came on.

The 2017 Scribbly Challenge medal, presented to participants who register in and successfully complete one of our two 5K events (the University of Regina Night Owl 5K on Friday night or the Campbell & Haliburton Insurance Family 5K on Saturday afternoon) AND ALSO register in and successfully complete any Sunday event.

So there are your 2017 GMS Queen City Marathon finisher medals. Aim for the finish line to collect your bling!
